There are two tours per day: 11:00 AM and 2:00 PM. Each tour lasts between 1 and 1 1/2 hours.
The founder of Giraffe Ranch has been on 30 African Safaris. We offer safaris by vehicle, camelback and Segway® as a way of providing three unique perspectives of animals in nature. We welcome our guests to keep coming back to try all three!
Safari Vehicle Tours
Each of our customized safari trucks is equipped with stadium seating, a full-coverage canvas shade, and seats up to 20 people.
You'll be conducted through pristine live oak hammocks and ephemeral wetlands in comfort and safety where you'll get spectacular close-up encounters with ostrich, bongo antelope, Grant’s zebra, blackbuck antelope, axis deer, warthog, red river hog, pygmy hippopotamus, Indian rhinoceros, scimitar-horned oryx and more unique and endangered species in large herds! Take part in real hands-on interactions with many species that feed from the vehicle.
You will be comfortable year-round under our special truck canopy with a cool breeze as the vehicle carries you on your safari adventure.
Game viewing on camels is simply sublime. Rediscover the experiences our human ancestors had with these amazing animals, viewing magnificent herds of game animals from your bestial perch. Become a part of the herd, joining our exotic animals in their natural state.
Camel safaris are about 60 to 90 minutes and are led by two experienced tour guides/camel handlers. We have dromedary, Bactrian, and tuli camels.
Our camels are treated with kindness and respect - and they love their jobs. They line up at the gate each morning eager to go to work! After giving their human safaris, each camel returns to the herd in their large grassy pasture with trees and open sky for rest, play, and recharging. Our camels are athletes, and they live long and healthy lives.
Camels have been domesticated for over 6,000 years and have a complex and mutually beneficial relationship with humankind. In our three decades of working with camels, we have developed the only full-on camel backed game-viewing safari that we know of outside of Africa.

Giraffe Ranch is the only place we know of that offers a guided Segway® Safari!
Safari by Segway is an excellent way to game view from the perspective of a pedestrian, without enduring the Florida heat and humidity. Using this method of transportation, one can stand at eye-level with zebra, rhinoceros, pygmy hippo, ostrich, antelope, and many other herd animals. Being on ground level, guides can stop to make interesting observations of small native flora and fauna, game trails, animal tracks, scat, and natural herd behaviors.
The Segway is high tech and silent. Our Segways are top-of-the-line X2 Camo models with all terrain tires. After a brief training, you will follow your expert driver guide and discover a multitude of animals in their natural habitats throughout Giraffe Ranch.
Segway Safaris are akin to walking safaris we have done in Africa, minus the sweat and effort. On a Segway, one is close enough to the ground to see many things unable to be viewed from a vehicle or by camelback, and makes for quite an interesting mode of safari transport!
Llama have been helping people carry their wares for thousands of years. Your llama will carry your things (water, binoculars, coat, snacks, etc) as you trek through various ecotypes in a setting that feels right out of Africa.
These members of the camel family are in the fossil record in Florida. They have been bred for gentleness and make excellent hiking companions. Llamas are alert, curious and as excited to trek as you are. They walk at a comfortable pace and their keen senses help point out animals you might miss. Walking with a llama will capture your heart and make your Giraffe Ranch llama trek all the more memorable.
